Keys PCE Resource Centre
Keys PCE Resource Centre in based in Walton provides educational and leisure activities, support and resources to adults with learning disabilities.
The Resource Centre is staffed with a highly skilled and qualified team of professionals and is equipped to offer a wide range of resources to young people and adults who have complex needs, including learning difficulties and behaviours that are challenging or inappropriate in community settings.
At our Walton Resource Centre we provide people with a carefully designed and highly person-centred service that will meet their unique intellectual, interpersonal and social needs, fostering independence and promoting a full and active life.
The support we provide
Our Resource Centre provides locally based, easily accessible, high quality day services such as recreational activities, to young people and adults with moderate to severe learning difficulties.
The needs of individuals are thoroughly assessed during initial planning and via on-going assessment. This is designed with care and consideration based on the needs, requirements and interests of each individual.
We provide a comfortable and supportive environment in which people can be considered and developed as adult individuals. We identify people’s preferred method of communication and ensure that their skills are developed and used in all areas of activity.
Activities are incorporated into a broad, balanced relevant timetable of activities that accommodates care plans and risk assessments whilst acknowledging individuals’ needs and interests. We offer a diverse range of on and off-site activities, including arts and crafts, music and movement, horticulture, cycling, swimming, health and fitness sessions, hydrotherapy, hair and beauty, cookery, computer skills training and excursions in our mini bus.
A cooked meal is provided at the Centre for everyone we support and we cater for a wide range of dietary requirements.
We ensure equality of opportunity, irrespective of gender, race, disadvantage or disability and respect individual’s alternative religious, cultural and lifestyle choices and/or beliefs.
A major emphasis of our work is based on community inclusion. Community access represents an integral component of our activities programme and can involve an individual or group using the Resource Centre/public transport to gain experiences in the local or wider community. Close links have already been built with local establishments, such as community centres, and we encourage and support people to use public transport where appropriate.
